Spring Season

The spring season in Nepal starts in March and expands till May. Spring is said to be the best time to trek to Everest Base Camp. The reason for it being considered the best is how the weather gets comparatively stable. There is more predictability in the weather.

The temperature is not harsh during this season. It is not too hot like summer nor too cold like winter. The temperature at the lower heights ranges from 50°F (10°C) to 70°F (20°C). This weather is extremely suitable and comfortable to trek in. 

In this season, you will get to see the clear views of the sky. You will be fortunate to see the whole panorama without any obstructed sky views. 

During this season, the path and trails are covered with shades of red and pink due to the blooming season of the Rhododendrons. These Rhododendrons make the trekking trail look pretty and add a touch of beauty to the trek.

Moreover if you want to witness the expedition teams attempting to climb  Mount Everest itself, this is the particular season to do so. This can add a certain dimension to your trek.

Autumn

Autumn in Nepal lasts from September to November. Autumn is the second best time to trek to Everest Base Camp according to the trekkers. This season also offers clear and usually unobstructed views of the sky. Especially from September to October.

In the lower altitude, the temperature range is usually 50°F (10°C) to 60°F (15°C). The usual temperatures are not a hindrance for trekkers.

Autumn is when the monsoon just ends in Nepal. Due to that, in Autumn, trekkers can experience a dry environment. The trails are not muddy. 

The views in this season are often considered to be the best out of all seasons. The breathtaking panorama of Mount Everest is clearly visible in the sky. It is the perfect time for photographers to have the best pictures of the surroundings.

Pre Monsoon

This period lasts from June to August in Nepal. Usually it is not considered the best time to trek to Everest Base Camp. Despite that some trekkers take their chance with the trek in this season.

Why is it not popular? Because of heavy rainfall and muddy trails. The view often gets obstructed by the clouds and rain. Walking in mud is uncomfortable. Your trekking clothes and boots get dirty. 

The most dangerous part of it is the landslides. The region is prone to landslides due to heavy rain. The temperature goes up and down which can result in fever and cold.

It might have some advantages like fewer crowds and a little fall in the expenses due to the off season.

If the rain and mud does not challenge you, might opt for this season but that being said it is considered the worst time to trek to Everest Base Camp.

Winter

In Nepal, Winter spans from December to February. Besides monsoon, winter is also not the problem for you  Everest Base Camp in December will be the best time.

The main reasoning being the extreme tempEverest Base Camp.eratures. The temperature can get below freezing points. The higher altitudes face extreme cold.

The trekking trail is usually relatively empty during this season, so if you are looking for a lesser crowd, this might be good news for you but you have to be prepared with proper winter gear and clothing.

The surrounding might get a little foggy but the snow covered mountains look majestic nonetheless.

The beauty of the region remains regardless of the season. It is up to you to decide which of the seasons suits you the most!
